Walk for Peace Update & Request for Gentle Prayers
Dear Volunteers and Community,
We first, would like to thank you. The compassion, time, and intention you have offered (ie medical supplies, community comfort food, facilities equipment and maintenance) mean more than words can express.
In this moment, we invite you to pause and pray for the health and safety of all the Venerable monks and Aloka on their journey for Peace.
We were informed from the National Walk for Peace Coordinators, due to recent weather conditions, icy roads, and route changes for safety, the planned Walk for Peace site in Catlett, VA is now canceled.
We acknowledge this is unexpected news, especially after the heartfelt preparation so many of you have given.
For many of us, the heart of this Walk for Peace has never been a single location—it is the shared intention for peace, compassion, and mindfulness. Moments like this remind us of a core truth in peace: we hold our intentions with love, but not too tightly. While plans may shift, the spirit behind our service does not.
