The Board of Directors of Wat Lao Buddhavong announces that, after careful deliberation and in accordance with its fiduciary responsibilities, it has voted to conclude the service of Venerable Inthavong Souniphan at Wat Lao Buddhavong.
This decision was not made lightly. The Board recognizes Venerable Inthavong, our guest monk’s and his few years of religious service and expresses appreciation for his contributions to the temple and the community.
The Board’s responsibility is to govern the Organization in accordance with its Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, applicable Virginia law, and its duty to protect the long-term interests of Wat Lao Buddhavong as a nonprofit religious organization.
The Board concluded that a leadership transition is necessary to promote effective governance, organizational stability, and the continued fulfillment of the temple’s religious and charitable mission.
